Where We Work

IN BENISHANGUL-GUMUZ, ETHIOPIA
  • Nearly 1 in 5 children die before the age of 5
  • The average annual per capita income is US $100
  • High disease rates leave behind a land of orphans
  • 85% of diseases are preventable with basic sanitation
  • Less than one-third of the population has access to clean water
  • Basic healthcare is non-existent, with 1 doctor per 300,000 patients

Around the world, places like Benishangul-Gumuz are more common than not and Streams of Life International is doing something about it!

At Streams of Life International, our mission is to improve the health status and quality of life for people living in rural, underserved areas by strengthening in-country health care and implementing self-sustaining support systems. We work to strengthen indigenous health efforts by providing essential material resources – medicines, supplies, equipment, education, and medical support.

Since the need is so large, Streams of Life International, Inc. has chosen to initially target the Benishangul-Gumuz Region of Ethiopia, a forgotten region in a forgotten land. This impoverished region witnesses one of the highest disease and death rates in the world today and "boasts" of only one hospital in Assosa to meet the medical and health needs of over 600,000 people living in that region.

And with your help, we can change not only Benishangul-Gumuz, but the world. We can work to alleviate suffering and improving the quality of life for destitute and desperate people around the world.
